Jocelyn Hong Addresses the National Convention of the American
Legion
August 26, 2006 – This year, the American Legion invited
Jocelyn Hong, Principal of the Twenty-First Century Group, to be
a guest speaker at the Eighty-Eighth Annual National Convention
of the American Legion in Salt Lake City, Utah. She addressed the
American Legions National Economic Commission about a proposal
to begin a Disability Preference Program for Tax Collection Contracts.
This program would create jobs for severely disabled veterans and
other Americans with disabilities by creating a preference in Internal
Revenue Service debt collection contracts for companies that commit
to hiring significant numbers of persons with disabilities.
The American Legion was chartered by Congress in
1919 as a patriotic, mutual-help, war-time veterans organization.
This community-service organization now numbers close to 3 million
members in nearly 15,000 American Legion Posts worldwide (www.legion.org).
